Of course, by design, this will leave behind any configuration data the application saved to a dot folder or to the preferences folder, but Mac OS users generally don't tend to wander around their file systems as much as Windows users do for some reason.Windows 7 users can uninstall Internet Explorer 11 on their system. you just drag the folder in Applications to the trash. Mac OS applications don't typically have uninstallers. Realistically a lot of the special tasks are handled by the OS there, application installers might be involved but fundamentally Mac OS will detect when new folders are created in the Applications folder and do all the needed "registration" of the new program, if applicable. Mac OS Applications "install" by basically just copying to the Applications folder. Windows can't know how to uninstall a program. You uninstall from there though and Windows just runs the uninstaller that the program registered. When a program installs it can optionally register itself with Windows as an installed program so it appears in add/remove programs. The uninstallation program "knows" how to uninstall it. The installation program "knows" how to install the program. Installers and uninstallers are just programs.
